The Second Street Run of the Nowiny Chimneys

More than 160 participants were running in the Second Street Run of the Nowiny Chimneys, which was held under the patronage of Dyckerhoff Poland on Saturday 13 September 2014. The Nowiny plant provided a strong team, which completed the whole run. All runners received commemorative medals with the Nowiny Chimneys engraved and the logo of Dyckerhoff Poland. Additionally, the winners received the cups and prizes. The run course was 5 km.

- The run refers to the competition, which was organized in the local community in the sixties of the twentieth century on the occasion of the Builder Day - said Jacek Kania, the Director of the GOK in Nowiny, the run forefather. – Then, the employees of cement - lime plants already ran along the streets of Nowiny promoting a healthy lifestyle. The name "the Five-Chimney Run" is symbolic, it combines the idea of sport with the place where we live. The industry is an important element of the existence of our community; the whole generations have worked and continue to work in a cement plant in Nowiny. As a result, we have jobs, the municipality can develop.

- We are happy to have been included in the so-friendly local event. This project has its unique atmosphere and tradition. - said Krzysztof Kieres, the Board member of Dyckerhoff Poland, who supported the runners.
