A Day with Dyckerhoff Polska at AGH – Learning and Inspiration for Young Engineers

The Faculty of Materials Engineering and Ceramics at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków hosted representatives of Dyckerhoff Polska – a leader in the cement and concrete industry, part of the international Buzzi Unicem Group.

The event, “A Day with Dyckerhoff Polska,” was a unique opportunity for students, doctoral candidates, and graduates to meet industry practitioners and engage in discussions about careers, innovations, and sustainable development.

Collaboration between Science and Industry

The event was opened by Prof. Włodzimierz Mozgawa, PhD, DSc, Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Ceramics (WIMiC) at AGH, who warmly welcomed the numerous attendees and emphasized the importance of students’ contact with industry. Representing Dyckerhoff Polska, Adam Dec, Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs, presented the company’s values and its approach to employee development.

– At Dyckerhoff Polska, we prioritize professionalism, cooperation, and responsibility. We believe that investing in people is an investment in the future. That is why we open doors to young engineers eager to grow in a dynamic and modern industry – he emphasized.

The cooperation between science and industry was also highlighted by Prof. Jan Deja, PhD, DSc, from the Department of Building Materials Technology at AGH:

– Such initiatives help students understand how theory translates into practice and what working in a modern industrial plant looks like.

Passionate People – Dyckerhoff Polska Experts

The event featured inspiring presentations by Dyckerhoff Polska experts, many of whom are AGH alumni.

Martyna Gos, process engineer, shared her professional journey – from internships to an independent position. – The most rewarding part of my work is seeing the effects of my efforts – from idea to finished product. Dyckerhoff truly offers great development opportunities – she said.

Marek Mucha, laboratory supervisor and AGH graduate, presented the topic of high-performance concrete BWW C60/75 used in bridge structures.

Meanwhile, Aleksandra Kosturkiewicz, senior quality specialist and also an alumnus of this university, discussed the operation of the modern cement plant laboratory, which supports production processes and quality control.
