Beton Concrete from Dyckerhoff Polska on the Wrocław Motorway Bypass

Prestigious investment.

The plants in Wrocław supply the Wrocław Motorway Bypass with concrete. The investment includes building the A-8 motorway almost 35 kilometers long, in the northwestern part of the city, together with bridges, overpasses and viaducts. The total cost of the investment is 3.5 bln PLN.

Among the contractors are Strabag and Dywidag, with whom Dyckerhoff Polska works in cooperation as a concrete supplier. Before that the plants in Wrocław had to meet the supplier requirements approved by the contractors and investment supervision committee. They had made a few investments that enabled dealing with this important contract.

In July we started supplying Strabag with B 25 concrete. To concrete we use 2 new Sermac pomps featuring a boom 41 meters long. Both of the plants supply a few hundred cubic meters of concrete daily.
In August in the Wrocław I – Centrum plant the silo was changed to a bigger 100-ton one, which will allow storing more concrete. Last year in the Wrocław II – Południe plant a concrete recycling system manufactured by “C&B due” came into use.

In August the Strabag procedures of high quality were introduced and both plants prepared trial batches of a range of B 35 to 60 concrete for bridges. In September we started delivering it. This and next year we are going to deliver ca 70,000 cubic meters of concrete for 6 bridge objects.

The Wrocław Motorway Bypass is a prestigious investment that will relieve the city of traffic congestion and improve road safety. It is part of the city’s preparation for the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. Completion is scheduled for June 2011.
